SQL Database Developer - Rochester, NY (697)
Location: Corporate - Rochester, NY

Overview

Responsible for design and development of SQL Database components that meet business/system requirements

Responsibilities
  • Translation of complex business problems into innovative technical solutions through Analysis, Design and Development
  • Design, Develop and Maintain Corporate Databases
  • Unit Testing with input into formal QA Test Plans and Scripts
  • Maintain Process Documentation, Data Dictionaries and Data Flow Diagrams
Requirements
  • Must have 8+ years of Design / Development experience with SQL Server
  • Bachelorís degree or equivalent experience, in the software development field.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and database techniques and concepts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL running on Win 2K server or similar systems
  • Must have practical experience in writing code for data access, modifications and constructs
  • Experience / Knowledge in writing DTS Packages for interface with Applications
  • Must have experience in database administration tasks and data design
  • Must have an understanding of traditional development Project Life Cycle
  • Understanding of Rapid Application Development ( RAD ) processes
  • Understanding of statistics and statistical terminology
  • Understanding of market research data structures and or market research collection methods
  • Familiarity with procedures and processes used to process research data (survey weighting, regression methodology, data merging etc)
  • Understand tasks as assigned by Project Managers, Development Leads and senior members of the Harris Interactive IT Engineering.
  • Ability to Interact with project managers, system analysts, quality assurance, and other engineering members.
  • Ability to communicate project/task status, clearly explain problems and communicate needs
  • Ability to work independently or within a structured development team
  • Commitment to quality and attention to detail is critical
  • Strong organizational, time management skills required in order to manage/work on multiple assignments concurrently under tight deadlines
  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required
