Methodologist - Rochester, NY - (421)
Location: Corporate - Rochester, NY

Overview

Supports vertical team researchers in a broad range of quantitative research projects, including studies involving conjoint and discrete choice models as well as market segmentation, perceptual mapping, pricing studies, and the like.

Responsibilities
  • Provides consultation on study design and methodology, assisting research staff in preparing technical descriptions of analytical techniques for inclusion in proposals.
  • Designs conjoint and discrete choice experiments, and supports implementation through creating appropriate design files for survey programming.
  • Develops statistical models for understanding buyer behavior using advanced multivariate techniques, including hierarchical Bayesian estimation.
  • Assists research staff in the preparation of reports/presentations with respect to these statistical models.
  • Conducts research/analyses on research methodology for the development of new research products or analytic methods.
  • Serves as a statistical and methodological resource for vertical team researchers.
  • Provides training in research methods and analyses for research staff.
  • Creates market simulators (using MS Excel) based on conjoint and other predictive models.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in a social science, applied statistics, economics, or market research with a strong focus on quantitative methods. (Ph.D. preferred).
  • 2-4 years’ experience in the analysis of survey data.
  • Experience in the design of survey questionnaires.
  • Experience in advanced statistical techniques (e.g., discrete choice modeling, multivariate techniques, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SPSS (or SAS), experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
