Resource Scheduler - Rochester, NY (725)
Location: CRMD - Rochester, New York


Provide resource allocation services needed in support of project fulfillment. Support the Resource Manager scheduling all required resources through the Research Ops.

Will work closely with the Resource Manager, Directors of Data Processing/Survey Programming, and/or Research Managers to understand job requirements. Once the project is understood and a quality check is performed, input to the resource system will be required. Also, help administer, monitor and report key measurements that will aid in the continuous refinement of the Job Initiation Process. Assist with the development, implementation and use of Resource Planning/Scheduling System.

  • Expert knowledge of policies and procedures used for project fulfillment.
  • Expert knowledge of quality control processes and the impact on scheduling.
  • Identify programmer resources based on key dates/requirements for deliverables.
  • Evaluation of incoming deliverables for a new project.
  • Determine feasibility of project fulfillment based on key dates, requirements for deliverables and available resources.
  • Work with research managers to create a schedule of deliverables for each project.
  • Negotiate with research staff regarding issues/events that will impact project schedule. Responsible for programmer re-assignment if necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Database mgmt team regarding server, web sample availability.
  • Assist Resource Manager in use of an "Early Warning" system to identify projects with deliverables in danger of missing scheduled deadlines.
  • Assist Resource Manager forecast resource needs, capacity planning.
  • Develop schedule templates for special project handling.
  • Develop various performance reports from resource mgmt and scheduling software.
  • Involvement in the Continuous Improvement Process for project fulfillment.
  • Technical undergrad degree (or equivalent experience). Experience in the Market Research industry, preferably in Operations.
  • Proficient in Windows Network PC environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Market Research experience (field mgmt, project mgmt or programming) preferred.
  • Experience with a resource management and scheduling software package a plus.
  • Interact with research managers to develop a project schedule.
  • Ability to negotiate time frames with research managers when schedule indicates no availability. Discuss options, possible tradeoffs & consider/suggest solutions.
  • Ability to clearly and independently communicate (both written and verbally) with project staff, Managers, and programmers.
  • Ability to communicate details of project fulfillment to all levels of management.
  • Ability to train others on a concept or technique (internally and externally).
  • Quickly learn different software packages used for resource management.
  • Ability to monitor the progress of all projects.
  • Organizational skills, conflict mgmt, problem solving, ability to work with time constraints necessary.
  • Project planning/coordination (work after 5:00 pm may be required).
  • Attention to detail is critical.
