Background

Established in 1991, Blauw Research is a full-service market research firm. Having already made intensive use of Internet-based technologies, Blauw was perfectly positioned to enter into an exclusive partnership with Harris Interactive in April 2000. At Blauw, the Internet is recognized as a tremendous opportunity to develop new research methods and conduct research faster and more efficiently.

Using both Internet-based and traditional research methodologies—telephone, in-person, mail, and focus groups—Blauw’s mission is to provide value-added consulting and the highest quality data collection service. The firm is recognized for its performance in customer and employee relations, communication, brand positioning, corporate image, e-business, and new media research. Blauw Research is proud of its innovative approach to web-based data collection and publishing tools in business processes.

One of Blauw’s multi-client image products monitors over 150 corporate brands in the Netherlands and is featured in the new European Image & Performance Monitor. Clients served by Blauw include KPN Telecom, Pink Roccade (IT services), Exact Software, Imperial Tobacco, and the Dutch Government. Blauw’s client list is as diverse as the research it conducts—from public policy and educational services to business-to-business and customer retention—with many projects utilizing the company’s growing Internet capabilities. In addition, Blauw’s research competencies are especially strong in the IT, telecommunications, financial services, e-business, and Internet industries.

Blauw offers its clients the capabilities of a proprietary Internet survey system, database publishing tools, and CATI/CAPI systems. For qualitative research, the company has two focus group rooms with closed circuit TV and a room for one-on-one interviews. Blauw also boasts a 70-person, computer-supported callcenter.

To achieve a competitive advantage in the European marketplace, Blauw Research has established a joint research program with Nyenrode University, a leading school of business in the Netherlands. Together they are studying and developing the highest quality standards for online qualitative research methods. Their many contacts and high standards for data collection and analysis should establish them as a dominant force in Internet research and analysis throughout the Netherlands and Europe.
