London, 17th October 2012 - A recent poll conducted by Harris Interactive revealed that the landscape of Britain's high streets is dominated by chemists, post offices, pubs, hair dressers, cafes, charity shops, bank branches, fast food outlets and betting shops.
And yet the poll also revealed that top amongst the shops that British adults would like to see open on their high street are fishmongers (17%), greengrocers (16%) and butchers (13%).
Currently only half of Britons have access to a butcher (48%), with much less being able to access a greengrocer (39%) or a fishmonger (14%).
When asked about which shops they would like to see fewer of, betting shops (19%) and fast food Outlets (10%) topped the list.
